Auto Add Domains, Subs to WHM
Q. What's the one thing all internet marketers have in common? A. Websites of course, owning, creating, adding to hosts. Below is a link to a free program that makes adding 1 or any amount of domains to your WHM in just 2 clicks You can also use it to create sub domains instantly. Interesting Info about Sub domains Firstly did you know there's 2 ways to create sub domains? 1. From within your domains Cpanel. When you create a subdomain via Cpanel, the files for this subdomain reside in a directory within the main domains account, generally /public_html/subdomainname/ 2. From within your WHM A lot of people don't know that you can add subdomains via WHM and the benefits of doing such. If you create a sub domain via WHM This sub domain is just like adding a normal domain e.g it gets its own Cpanel and DNS entries, some people argue that subdomains created this way perform better in the search engines since they have their own DNS entries, personally I'm undecided on this point. Personally I prefer creating subdomains from within WHM e.g if I put a blog or a forum on a domain generally I will create blog.domain.com and create this subdomain via WHM for me its easier to manage the files created in a subdomain via WHM easier to check stats, ftp paths are simpler About ftp paths Cpanel sub domains web = http://www.sub.domain.com ftp = ftp.domain.com/public_html/sub/ WHM web = http://www.sub.domain.com ftp = ftp.sub.domain.com/public_html/ Now onto The software to auto add domains and subdomains to your WHM See the image here. ![]() You can add any amount of domains you wish instantly. Domains. enter domains like this. domain1.com domain2.com domain3.com any amount you choose. Subdomains Important: To create Subdomains in WHM you must have the domain account created first. Enter sub domains like this. sub.domain.com sub1.domain.com sub2.domain.com sub3.domain.com etc or you can use multiple domains and multiple subs e.g sub.domain.com sub.domain2.com sub.domain3.com sub2.domain.com sub2.domain2.com sub3.domain3.com any way you like. This program creates the username for these accounts created and uses your password for each account created. Click on the "Add Domains" Button All done, Simple huh ![]() Requirements. Hi Pete,
My WHM by default is x theme, so that's not the problem. While adding domains, it did process without any problem and there is a "done" button appear after it finishes. I will try on another WHM and see if same problem happens again. |

Sounds great - just found this routine.
I just regeistered 10 new domains and tried to use. I have a Hostgator dedicated server and X them / Cpanel is the default. I key in the required parameters Domain User Password I tried http:// and I got an error Can not create file d:\1.html Just get nowhere. Have sucessfully created using my WHM module with the correct parameters. No idea what's happening!

Just shelled out the $7.00 and bought the full version of the add domains/subdomains tool because I couldn't get it to work from within VI3.
Set it up to create 1 domain and six subdomains off the full domain. Set up a package in x Cpanel theme ass required. The tool appears to have created 3 subdomains with no problem, but hasn't and won't create the main domain and the other two subdomains. Any ideas what's happened, and how to avoid it happening again? Would love to get this sorted, as if it's working properly, it will cut through a HUGE amount of drudge work... |

I think I've discovered what the problem is, in the "full" version at least...
Either the tool or cPanel (at least on my server) can't handle hypenated domains because it's got to write a username automatically from the domain name given. My guess is that any hypenated domain would have to have the first word with at least 8 letters in it before the hyphen occurs. Last edited by erika1959; 09-26-2007 at 04:14 AM. |
